Jesus, Part 8

Despite being slimy critters that some people don’t want to touch, frogs are amazing. There are over 4,700 species of frogs, and they are found on every continent except Antarctica. You can tell the

age of a frog by studying its bones. Every year that a frog goes into hibernation, it develops a new layer of bone. Frogs come in all sorts of colours and can jump twenty times their own height. People who study frogs and other amphibians and reptiles are called herpetologists.

The transformation of a frog from living completely underwater to an animal that breathes air is nothing short of miraculous. The metamorphosis from a tadpole to an adult frog often focuses on the loss of its tail and the development of its legs. But there are many other unusual changes that take place. Tadpoles eventually lose their gills and develop lungs. Their bowels also shrink in length since they switch from eating aquatic vegetation to insects.

Evolutionists sometimes point to the metamorphosis of a tadpole into a frog as support for their theory. But there is no evolutionary process taking place that needs new genetic information required by mutation. All the genes for life in the water and on land are within the tadpole and frog. This growth simply reveals our Creator’s amazing design.

Peter, James, and John once witnessed a miraculous transformation of Christ on a mountain. The transfiguration of Jesus into a glorious divine being even included His clothing, which “became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them” (Mark 9:3). Such purity indicated the heavenly status of the Messiah. Jesus did not become divine. He was already the eternal God the Son. His change on the mountain only revealed what was hidden under the clothing of humanity.

The Creator is ready to change you into His image. Are you ready to be transformed?

Lord, transform me into Your likeness. Change my heart day by day so that I reflect You in my life.
